SpinTel Email Settings

Estimated Reading Time: 2 Minutes

Use the settings below to configure your SpinTel email account in your preferred email application.

Choose Your Account Type

During setup, your email application may ask you to choose between IMAP and POP.

IMAP (Recommended) stores your emails on the mail server and keeps your inbox, folders, sent items, and read/unread status synchronised across all your devices.

POP downloads emails to a single device. Depending on your email application's settings, downloaded emails may be removed from the mail server and won't automatically synchronise with your other devices.

Important: If you're changing an existing email account from POP to IMAP or from IMAP to POP, we recommend backing up any important emails before making the change. This helps prevent accidental data loss, as some email applications store emails differently depending on the account type.

If you're unable to send or receive emails:

  • Confirm your username and password are correct.
  • Verify the incoming and outgoing server names.
  • Check that the correct port numbers and encryption settings are selected.
  • Ensure Outgoing Server Authentication (SMTP Authentication) is enabled.
  • Remove and re-add the email account if necessary.
  • Restart your email app or mobile device.
  • If using webmail, clear your browser's cache and cookies, then sign in again.
  • If using an email app, ensure it's updated to the latest version. You may also try clearing the app's cache (Android) or reinstalling the app.
  • If you've recently changed your email password, update it in your email client.
