Using your SpinTel SIM overseas

Estimated Reading Time: 1 Minutes

When you travel outside of Australia, staying connected through your mobile device is essential. Whether for checking maps, staying in touch with family, or browsing the internet, understanding how roaming works can help you manage your mobile usage effectively.

What is Roaming?

Roaming is a service that allows you to use your mobile phone outside of Australia. When you are roaming, your phone automatically connects to a local network in the country you are visiting, allowing you to make and receive calls, send texts, and use data just like you would at home. You can usually see the name of the network you are connected to on your phone’s display.

How do you activate international roaming?

This feature is disabled by default but you can enable it anytime through My Account before leaving Australia. You will be asked to read and understand our terms and conditions before activating the roaming feature.

Check out this article for the step-by-step guide to activate this feature.

Important:

International roaming is convenient when used overseas but it can also be expensive since all international roaming is charged on top of the normal mobile monthly plan and at a higher rate. For this reason, we highly recommend that you take a look at our roaming rates.
