If you’re a SpinTel customer looking for your NBN login and password, there’s good news—you no longer need them! SpinTel has transitioned to a more efficient connection method called IPoE (IP over Ethernet), which does away with the need for a username and password.
Let’s walk you through why this change happened and how it benefits you.
In the past, SpinTel customers using NBN services would connect via PPPoE (Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet), which required entering a username and password to authenticate your internet connection. However, SpinTel has now adopted IPoE, a more advanced and streamlined method, so you no longer need to manually input login credentials.
To enjoy the benefits of IPoE, ensure your modem/router is set up correctly. Here’s how you can configure your BYO modem:
Connect your computer or mobile device to the modem/router using another Ethernet cable or via Wi-Fi. Open a web browser and enter the router’s IP address (usually something like 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1).
Enter the default username and password for your router. This information is typically found on a sticker on the modem/router or in the router’s manual.
Save the changes and allow the modem/router to apply the new settings. It should connect automatically without needing a username or password.
While IPoE is the standard protocol for SpinTel NBN connections, PPPoE can be a useful backup option, especially for customers using Bring Your Own (BYO) modems. If your BYO modem isn’t configuring for IPoE, setting up a PPPoE connection with your NBN login credentials can be a practical workaround.
For SpinTel-provided modems, everything is made easy with pre-configured settings that are optimised for your connection. Simply plug in your modem, and it will automatically connect to the NBN network. This plug-and-play approach saves you time and eliminates the need for manual adjustments, ensuring a smooth internet experience.
If you’re unsure about your modem setup or experiencing connection issues, SpinTel’s support team is always ready to assist. They can guide you through updating your modem settings or ensure everything is working as it should.
For SpinTel NBN customers, there’s no need for login credentials anymore. With the move to IPoE, getting connected is easier and faster. Simply set your modem to IPoE, and you’re ready to enjoy your internet service without the hassle of usernames or passwords.
