ACMA Mobile Levy - (Australian Communications and Media Authority)

What is the Annual Mobile Number Levy?

The Annual Mobile Number Levy is a government-mandated fee applied to mobile services in Australia. It is set by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) to help cover the cost of administering mobile numbering.

How much is the levy?

As of 2017, the cost of the levy is $0.65 per mobile number per year. This amount is subject to change if ACMA updates its fee structure.

How often is this fee charged?

The levy is charged once per year and will appear as a one-off fee on your account annually, as long as you have an active mobile service with us.

Why am I being charged this fee?

This is not a fee created by your provider—it’s a regulatory requirement set by ACMA. All mobile service providers in Australia are obligated to contribute, and this cost is passed on to customers.

Will I be charged the levy if I cancel my service?

No. The levy only applies if you have an active mobile service at the time we apply the charge. If your service is cancelled before the levy is applied, you will not be charged.

Where can I learn more about this levy?

You can read more about the mobile number levy on the ACMA website or contact us if you have any questions regarding the charge on your account.
