How to Configure TP-Link VX420-G2H

This guide will assist you in connecting your TP-Link VX420-G2H modem to SpinTel network.

Is the TP-Link VX420-G2H NBN Ready?

TP-Link VX420-G2H is a modem router that will work with SpinTel for FTTN/FTTB, FTTP, FTTC, HFC, and Fixed Wireless NBN services.

How do you connect your TP-Link VX420-G2H?

Depending on your nbn connection type, connect to one of the following:

For FTTN/FTTB

If there is no NBN Connection Box installed, connect the DSL port on the back of your modem to your phone wall socket using a telephone cable.

For FTTP, FTTC, HFC, and Fixed Wireless

If there is an NBN Connection Box installed, connect the NBN Connection Box to the WAN port on the back of your modem using an ethernet cable.

How do you log in to your TP-Link VX420-G2H web page?

To get connected via your TP-Link VX420-G2H modem, you'll need to log into your modem gateway.

Note: This can be done on most mobile devices, but we recommend doing these steps with your PC if you have one.

To access the modem interface, please make sure your device is connected to your modem through a wired or wireless connection.

  1. From your browser, type in http://192.168.1.1

  2. Log in with your TP-Link modem password.
    By default, the password is admin.

If the IP address does not work or if it has been changed, check your router's IP address. For instructions, click here.

How Do You Configure Your TP-Link VX420-G2H Modem?

For NBN FTTN / FTTB

  1. Go to the Advanced tab.

  2. Click Network.

  3. Choose the DSL option and click on the modify/edit symbol.

    If there are multiple Interface saved, you may click Delete All then Add to create a new Interface.

  4. Once inside, select PPPoE for the connection type then enter the username and password provided to you via email when the order was completed.

  5. Click Save and wait 3-5 minutes for the modem to go online, then test the service. Reboot the modem if needed.

For NBN HFC / FTTP / FTTC / Fixed Wireless

  1. Go to the Advanced tab.

  2. Click Network.

  3. Choose the DSL option and click on the modify/edit symbol.

    If there are multiple Interface saved, you may click Delete All then Add to create a new Interface.

  4. Once inside, select PPPoE for the connection type then enter the username and password provided to you via email when the order was completed.

  5. Click Save and wait 3-5 minutes for the modem to go online, then test the service. Reboot the modem if needed.

To personalize your WiFi settings:

  1. Use a device to connect to your modem via WiFi or Ethernet cable.

  2. Go to http://192.168.1.1 in your browser.

  3. Log in with your TP-Link modem password.
    By default, the password is admin.

  4. On the menu, click Basic > Wireless.

  5. Enter your new Network name (SSID) and Password as desired.

  6. Click Save and reconnect your devices using your new WiFi Network Name (SSID) and Password.
