How to Configure your D-LINK DSL-3785 Wireless AC1200 Modem

This guide will assist you in connecting your D-LINK DSL-3785 modem for FTTN or FTTB NBN connection types

Is D Link DSL-3785 Wireless AC1200 NBN Ready?

The D Link DSL-3785 is a popular nbn™ modem router that will also work with SpinTel for FTTN/B, FTTC, HFC, FTTP, and Fixed Wireless NBN services.

How Do You Connect Your D Link DSL-3785 Modem?

Depending on your nbn connection type, connect one of the following:

  • If there is no NBN Connection Box installed, connect the DSL port at the back of your modem to your phone wall socket.

  • If there is an NBN Connection Box installed, connect the LAN/WAN port at the back of your modem to your NBN Connection Box.

  • Connect any of the 4 LAN ports on the back of your router to your PC (optional)

  • Connect the Power port on the back of your router to your power socket

How Do You Log in To Your D Link DSL-3785 Modem?

To access the modem interface, please make sure your device is connected to your modem through a wired or wireless connection.

From your browser, type in http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar and hit Enter.

The login details should be underneath the modem.

If the IP address does not work or if it has been changed, check your router's IP address. For instructions, click here.

Manual Configuration

FTTN or FTTB

Once logged in, click X on the top right to exit the setup wizard if it shows up.

The main page should now display.

1. Go to Settings > Internet

2. Select VDSL for the field “Configure your WAN connection

Then on the same page further down, make sure the connection is PPPoE.

3. Enter the SpinTel Username and Password provided to you by email and then press Save.

FTTP, FTTC, HFC or Fixed Wireless service

1. Go to Settings > Internet

2. Select Ethernet for the field “WAN Access Type

On the same page further down (or on the next page if using the Wizard setup), make sure the connection is PPPoE.

3. Enter the SpinTel Username and Password provided to you by email and then press Save.

Test your internet service. Reboot the modem if needed.
