To get connected via your TP-Link modem, you'll need to log into your modem gateway.

Note: This can be done on most mobile devices, but we recommend doing these steps with your PC if you have one.

Logging into your modem

To access modem gateway, enter http://tplinkmodem.net or http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar of a web browser. If the IP address does not work or if it has been changed, check your router's IP address. For instructions, click here.

1. Log in with the account you set for the modem router, otherwise check the default username and password on the sticker of your modem.

2. Once logged in, go to Network. Under WAN Settings, look for PPPoE connection type and click Edit to modify your ISP credentials.

Otherwise, click Add if there's none.

3. On the WAN service setup, select PPPoE for the connection type. Enter the username and password provided to you via email when the order was completed.

Click Save to apply the changes.

Note: If other settings are presented, accept default values

Once done, go to Operation Mode and check the applicable mode

  • DSL Router Mode - for FTTN/FTTB services

  • Wireless router Modem - for HFC/FW/FTTP/FTTC services

The modem will automatically reboot if you will change/update the Operation mode.

Wait 3-5 minutes for the modem to go online, then test the service. Reboot modem if needed.

If you are still unable to connect, you may try the following:

  • Go to Network > WAN Settings

  • Click Advance under WAN service Setup

  • Update the MTU size to 1492 and click Save to apply.

Note: The normal MTU value for most Ethernet networks is 1500 bytes, whilst for PPPoE connections is 1492 bytes. Change the MTU only if it is necessary.

Wait 3-5 minutes for the modem to go online, then test the service. Reboot modem if needed.
