To get connected via your Netgear V6510-1FXAUS modem, you'll need to log into your modem gateway.

Note: This can be done on most mobile devices, but we recommend doing these steps with your PC if you have one.

Logging into your modem

To access the modem gateway enter http://www.routerlogin.com or http://www.routerlogin.net in the address bar of a web browser.

If it does not work or if it has been changed, check your router's IP address. For instructions, click here.

Use admin for username field and password in the password field then click on Login.

The BASIC Home page displays.

Select Internet Setup

  • For the Does your Internet connection require a login? setting, leave the Yes radio button selected.

  • ISP should be set to PPPoE

  • Enter the username and password provided to you via email.
Click Apply to save the new settings.

Note: If other settings are presented, accept default value

Go to Advanced > Setup > WAN Setup and change the WAN Preference.

By default, this is set to Auto-Detect, select Must use Ethernet WAN for FTTP, HFC, FTTC and Fixed Wireless services. Must use DSL WAN for FTTN or FTTB services.

Wait 3-5 minutes for your Netgear V6510-1FXAUS modem to go online, then test the service. Reboot modem if needed.

If you are still unable to connect, you may try the following:

  • Go to ADVANCED > Setup > WAN Setup.

  • Update the MTU size to 1492 and click Apply to save.

Note: The normal MTU value for most Ethernet networks is 1500 bytes, whilst for PPPoE connections is 1492 bytes. Change the MTU only if it is necessary.
