The Netgear D7000 is a popular nbn™ modem router that works with SpinTel for FTTN/B, FTTC, HFC, FTTP, and Fixed Wireless NBN services.
How Do You Connect Your Netgear Nighthawk D7000 Modem?
If there is no NBN Connection Box installed, connect the DSL port on the back of your modem to your phone wall socket using a phone cable.
If there is an NBN Connection Box installed, connect to the LAN port 4/WAN on the back of your modem to your NBN Connection Box.
Connect any of the LAN ports on the back of your modem to your PC (optional)
Plug the NBN connection box, if there’s any, to the power socket
Connect the power port on the back of your Netgear D7000 modem to your power socket.
To get connected via your Netgear D7000 modem, you'll need to log into your modem gateway.
Note: This can be done on most mobile devices, but we recommend doing these steps with your PC if you have one.
How Do You Log Into Your Netgear Nighthawk D7000 Modem?
To access the modem interface, please make sure your device is connected to your Netgear Nighthawk D7000 modem through a wired or wireless connection.
1. Open a web browser and enter http://www.routerlogin.com or http://www.routerlogin.net in the address bar of a web browser.
If it does not work or if it has been changed, check your router's IP address. For instructions, click here.
2. Use admin for username field and password in the password field, click on Login.
How to set up Netgear Nighthawk D7000 for FTTB/N NBN Service
Once logged in, the BASIC Home page displays.
1. First, go to Advanced > Setup > WAN Setup
2. Select Must Use DSL WAN for the WAN Preference and click Apply.
3. Next, go to BASIC > Internet
From the Select Country menu, select the country in which you use the modem router.
From the Select Internet Service Provider menu, look for SpinTel. Otherwise if not listed, choose Other.
From the Transfer Mode menu, select VDSL(PTM).
When you select VDSL(PTM) from the Transfer Mode menu, the only option in the DSL Mode menu is VDSL2
Select Internet for the virtual interface.
Make sure that the Enable This Interface check box is selectedScroll down to the Does your Internet connection require a login? section and select the Yes radio button
4. Enter the username and password provided to you via email.
5. Click Apply to save the new settings.
How to set up Netgear Nighthawk D7000 for FTTP, FTTC, HFC and FW NBN Service
1. Go to Advanced > Setup > WAN Setup
2. Select Must Use Ethernet WAN for the WAN Preference and click Apply.
3. Next, go to BASIC > Internet and configure the following:
From the Select Country menu, select the country in which you use the modem router.
From the Select Internet Service Provider menu, look for SpinTel. Otherwise if not listed, choose Other.
Select Internet for the virtual interface.
Make sure that the Enable This Interface check box is selectedScroll down to the Does your Internet connection require a login? section and select the Yes radio button
4. Enter the username and password provided to you via email.
5. Click Apply to save the new settings.
Note: If other settings are presented, accept default values
Wait 3-5 minutes for the modem to go online, then test the service. Reboot modem if needed.
