To get connected via your LINKSYS modem, you'll need to log into your modem gateway.
Note: This can be done on most mobile devices, but we recommend doing these steps with your PC if you have one.
Logging into your modem
Launch a web browser and enter “192.168.1.1” in the Address bar then press [Enter]. If the IP address does not work or if it has been changed, check your router's IP address. For instructions, click here.
Enter your login credentials in the fields provided. The default password is admin. If you changed or personalized your password, use that instead.
On the web interface go to Advanced Settings > Internet Connection Settings.
Select PPPoE for the Connection Type.
Enter the username and password provided in your email when the service was activated. Apply/save to keep the changes made.
Recent LINKSYS modem gateway
The red boxes below show selections you will have to make:
Click the picture of two gears (settings)
Choose 'Internet Settings'
Change the connection type to 'PPPoE'
Enter the username and password provided in your email when the service was activated. Apply/save to keep the changes made.
Older LINKSYS gateway
The red boxes show selections you will have to make. In this order, choose
'Setup'
'Basic setup'
'Ethernet'
Click on the dropdown arrow to select PPPoE
Enter the username and password provided in the email when the service was activated. Apply/save to keep the changes made.
Wait 3-5 minutes for the modem to go online, then test the service.
