To get connected via your LINKSYS modem, you'll need to log into your modem gateway.
Note: This can be done on most mobile devices, but we recommend doing these steps with your PC if you have one.
Logging into your modem
- Launch a web browser and enter “192.168.1.1” in the Address bar then press [Enter]. If the IP address does not work or if it has been changed, check your router's IP address. For instructions, click here.
- Enter your login credentials in the fields provided. The default password is admin. If you changed or personalized your password, use that instead.
- On the web interface go to Advanced Settings > Internet Connection Settings.
- Select PPPoE for the Connection Type.
- Enter the username and password provided in your email when the service was activated. Apply/save to keep the changes made.
Recent LINKSYS modem gateway
The red boxes below show selections you will have to make:
- Click the picture of two gears (settings)
- Choose 'Internet Settings'
- Change the connection type to 'PPPoE'
- Enter the username and password provided in your email when the service was activated. Apply/save to keep the changes made.
Older LINKSYS gateway
The red boxes show selections you will have to make. In this order, choose
- 'Setup'
- 'Basic setup'
- 'Ethernet'
- Click on the dropdown arrow to select PPPoE
- Enter the username and password provided in the email when the service was activated. Apply/save to keep the changes made.
Wait 3-5 minutes for the modem to go online, then test the service.
